An artist who embodies nostalgic pop. Debuting in 2014, OOHYO was born in Korea and spent her childhood in the United States before beginning her artistic career based in the UK. Drawing inspiration from Korean pop music of the 1980s and 1990s, she crafts nostalgic pop marked by lyrical melodies, understated vocals, and emotionally soothing songwriting. Among her early releases, [Dandelion] (2017) remains a long-loved favorite. In 2023, she released [OOHYO Returns], a self-remake project of her earlier songs that reveals a more emotional, cinematic sensibility. In 2025, she released [Vineyard Returns], a self-cover of [Vineyard] from her first EP [Girl Sense] (2014), offering an interesting opportunity to compare how her emotional expression has evolved over time. In 2022, OOHYO also participated as a lyricist on NewJeans’ hit single [Ditto]. Her pure and direct lyrics aligned perfectly with the youthful worldview of the five members, resulting in exceptional chemistry. 노스탤직팝을 표현하는 아티스트. 2014년 데뷔한 우효는 한국에서 태어나 미국에서 어린 시절을 보낸 뒤, 영국을 거점으로 아티스트 활동을 시작했다. 80~90년대 한국 가요를 떠올리게 하는 ‘노스탤직팝’을 특기로 하며, 서정적인 가사와 멜로디, 담백한 노랫소리로 듣는 이의 마음을 편안하게 어루만진다. 초기 발매곡 중 하나인 [민들레] (2017)는 지금까지도 꾸준히 사랑받고 있는 곡이다. 2023년에는 과거의 곡들을 스스로 리메이크한 프로젝트 [돌아온 우효]를 발표하며, 한층 더 감상적이고 영화음악 같은 감각을 선보였다. 이어 2025년에는 1st EP [소녀감성] (2014)에 수록된 [Vineyard]를 셀프 커버한 [돌아온Vineyard]를 발매해, 시간의 흐름에 따른 감성의 변화를 비교해 보는 즐거움을 더했다. 또한 2022년에는 NewJeans의 [Ditto] 작사에 참여했다. 순수하고 직설적인 가사는 다섯 멤버의 풋풋한 세계관과 조화를 이루며 뛰어난 케미스트리를 보여주었다. In 2023, OOHYO collaborated with Kia Corp. on a time signal advertising campaign, 'The Force That Moves Me, Us' (direct translation from Korean). The series brought children’s drawings to life as 3D graphics and featured sounds and lyrics celebrating unity and the power of community. It aired nightly before the evening news on major South Korean channels from July 2023 to March 2025.

​As Part 2 of the collaboration, OOHYO and Kia released 'Calling You' in March 2025, alongside a new series of time signal ads that visually bring the song to life. The collection includes lyric videos and a slow-motion video featuring OOHYO as a model. The ad series airs nightly before evening news on major South Korean channels, including SBS, JTBC, Channel A, TV Chosun, and MBN.

LG Labs

In August 2024, OOHYO was invited to talk and perform at LG Life’s Good Day, a talk concert hosted by LG Labs. The series features talks and live performances by some of South Korea’s most sought-after speakers and artists.

From March 2024 to March 2025, OOHYO served as presenter on SBS Radio’s late-night show After Club, airing every Monday from 1–3 AM on SBS Power FM 107.7 MHz. As host and DJ, she played and introduced a curated selection of global indie music.
